SUBSTANCE is a Melodic Techno soundset series for the Viper software synthesizer.

Drawing inspiration from artists such as ARTBAT, Tale Of Us, CamelPhat, Argy, Anyma, Adriatique, Mind Against, Massano, Kevin de Vries, Innellea, Colyn and Cassian, SUBSTANCE delivers a focused collection of sounds designed for modern electronic productions with impact, atmosphere and movement. You can also feel the influence of labels such as Afterlife, Rose Avenue, Siamese, Diynamic, Steyoyoke, Innervisions, Polarity Records, Atlant and Oddity in the overall sonic direction.

Inside the series you will find rolling low end, powerful basslines, hypnotic arpeggios, driving sequences, cutting plucks, emotional leads, shimmering pads and detailed FX.

Every sound is designed to help you move from inspiration to finished idea faster, without losing that polished, high-end character expected from modern Melodic Techno / Progressive House and Trance.

While SUBSTANCE is rooted in Melodic Techno, its palette also works beautifully for Melodic Trance and Progressive House, making it a versatile choice for producers who want expressive and current sounds inside Viper.

A few words from our sound designer- Mr.X

For over a month, my studio monitors were filled almost exclusively with Melodic Techno and Progressive House.
I immersed myself completely in these sounds, listening again and again, searching for every nuance, every detail, and every spark of inspiration.

Across SUBSTANCE Vol.1 and Vol.2, you will find both the essential presets that shape the core sound of Melodic Techno and a range of fresh, inspiring sounds designed to push your ideas further.

These presets fit naturally into the world of Melodic Techno and Progressive House, from deep and atmospheric moments to more driving and energetic tracks.

I hope this series inspires new ideas and new music for you. It already sparked two new tracks in my own studio.

MRX

All presets were originally created on the Access Virus TI, then transferred to Viper 1.2.2 and carefully re‑edited to achieve a very close match.

Some sounds have been enhanced with effects not available on the original Virus Ti such as Shimmer Reverb.

Please note: since Viper and the Virus TI are two different synthesizers, the conversion is not always 100% identical. However, the results are highly impressive, and most patches sound nearly indistinguishable from their Virus TI counterparts.

Presets do not contain sampled audio, melodies, or loops. They are sound programs that can be loaded into the Viper synthesizer. A collection of presets is commonly referred to as a sound bank.
